I was saddened to learn last week that Daughter Darling, the band that kicked off the very first episode of Dave’s Lounge, has broken up. Lead vocalist Natalie Walker announced recently that she has decided to pursue a solo career, and she’s set up this Myspace page in preparation for her solo debut.
“Sweet Shadows” was a great CD, and if it’s not in your collection yet, it should be. You can buy a copy at the Dave’s Lounge Shop. I wish everyone in the band all the best in their future endeavors.
The opening for today’s show came directly from the Tao Te Ching, the classic Chinese manual on the art of living. I’ve been reading it a lot lately, as life has remained hectic for me after the holidays, and I thought this verse fit really well with this week’s show…
Dave’s Lounge is currently being downloaded in 36 countries around the globe. Now it’s time for you, my dear listeners, to put yourselves on the map.
I’ve set up a Dave’s Lounge Frappr Map, where listeners can push in a virtual pin wherever they currently live. Just click on the link in the right-hand menu and follow the instructions for putting yourself on the map. You can also leave a message for the rest of the Dave’s Lounge audience to see. I’m hoping that all 36 countries listening to this show will be represented on this map…
Happy New Year, everyone! After all that partying, you look like you could use a moment to relax and unwind. You’ve come to the right place. Welcome to a brand new year of Dave’s Lounge. Hope you enjoy your
stay…
