This week’s episode features the music of Miami-based downtempo artist Raul Ramirez, a former drummer in numerous rock bands who began a solo project and has produced two excellent downtempo CDs. When I listened to these CDs, I knew there was no way I could pick just one song to play. There is some great music here, folks.
Thanks to everyone out there who dugg Dave’s Lounge at Digg.com last week. This podcast is now in the top ten in Digg’s music podcast section, which is pretty awesome. If you’re a Digg user, but you haven’t dugg Dave’s Lounge yet, just click here.
I’ve been using Digg’s new podcast section to listen to shows at work. It’s actually quite useful…
Dave’s Lounge has returned for 2007 — no thanks to Verizon DSL, who seem to have throttled the upload speed from my house down to about 40 Kbps. Once again, I’m uploading this show using the Panera Bread Wi-Fi spot down the street.
I hope everyone out there enjoyed the holidays. The holiday here lasted a little longer than expected, but only because I had so many emails and music submissions to sort through — and I’m still going through them, so if you’re waiting for a reply from me, sit tight. Lots of great music is ahead this year.
Thanks to everyone who sent feedback on the iTunes links. Based on your feedback, I have decided to bring back iTunes links and including them with eMusic, Amazon, CD Baby and other links as appropriate. Nobody likes DRM, but everybody likes choices, so I will try to give you more choices to help support artists in the future. I’ve also taken the Dave’s Lounge Shop down for the time being, but I plan to bring it back soon, hopefully in a much better form than it was.
Oh, and if you dig Dave’s Lounge, please Digg Dave’s Lounge. I’ll include the link to the Digg podcast page for Dave’s Lounge at the bottom of the show notes and in the sidebar. If you have a Digg account, you should check out their new podcast section. It’s pretty slick.
