Now that I’ve finally launched the new web site, I find myself with a huge backlog of email and music submissions to sift through, not to mention a lot of emails I have to send out to artists and labels. So if you haven’t heard from me yet, sit tight. I’m going to catch up here soon. In the meantime, though, here are a couple of new additions to the site:
The List of Nations. I didn’t have a place on the old web site to post the list of nations I’ve heard from since starting this show, but I’ve finally posted it on this site. Just click on the List of Nations link in the header bar, and if you don’t see your home country there, send me an email, and I’ll be sure to add it. (Don’t forget to add yourself to the Dave’s Lounge Frappr Map, too, so that everyone can get a good look at how far one podcast can reach.)
The Theme Song. The most frequently asked question I get is, "What’s that music you play in the background?" Click on the Theme link in the header bar to find out what that song is and how to purchase a copy, which directly supports this podcast.
Well, it’s taken a lot longer than I thought it would, but it’s here — the all-new Dave’s Lounge web site!
My only concern at this point is whether or not the iTunes feed will be updated properly. I’ve done all that I think needs to be done at this point, but it may be another 24-48 hours before all that’s settled. If you’re subscribed through the original feed, you should be able to get this episode now. You can also listen to it on the web, thanks to Martin Laine’s Audio Player plugin for Wordpress.
Because I did so much work on the web site, though, I wasn’t able to get a full show together this week, so I thought I’d throw a few old favorites into a podcast with this week’s announcement…
#75 will be ready next week, and I plan to do a lot more with this site in the next few weeks, too. Stay subscribed for further announcements, and thank you all for your continued support!
All of the music from this week’s show comes from artists based in the San Francisco area. Many of them perform at a new event called Shift/Tilt in the Bay Area. Click here for more info on upcoming Shift/Tilt events.
The opening quote is lifted from Warren Ellis’ seminal comic epic Transmetropolitan, which is a vile, disgusting and utterly brilliant piece of writing. I’ve been told Warren, who’s from England, loves the city of San Francisco. I really need to get out there one of these days…
