So the first song from this week’s show inspired me to go back into the vault and find some other tunes that had a bit of a groove to them. You’ve heard them all before, but I thought they all sounded good together. Hopefully, they’ll help you enjoy these last few weeks of summer even more.
So the failure of my Firewire sound module last week gave me the impetus I needed to acquire a new USB 2.0 sound module from E-MU, and I have to say, I wish I had gotten this sooner. It’s really a far more elegant solution than what I was using previously.
That purchase was actually made possible by you, the listeners, who signed up for a free 15-day trial at eMusic through this site. The commissions I earned from that paid for this new sound module. Thank you all for your continued support of this show.
I was all set to go with show #90 when my laptop decided that it didn’t want to recognize the existence of my M-Audio Firewire 410 sound module anymore. I have no idea why this started happening tonight, as it wasn’t a problem before, and I suspect it will take a few software reinstalls to fix it.
My apologies for the delay. I’ll try to get this settled as soon as possible.
My PC appears to be fixed and ready to go again, and I’m getting this week’s show out a day early because I’ll be out on Tuesday night cheering on a local soccer club, the Carolina Railhawks, as they take on the Richmond Kickers in the U.S. Open Cup. It’s a tournament that’s largely unknown to all but a handful of fans, but it still feels important to us, and that’s all that matters, really…
