It’s been an interesting week around the house. My dad’s replacing some plumbing, and at one point, we turned one of my ceiling fans into a sprinkler system. Thankfully, though, that problem was fixed quickly, and we can keep things going for another week…
This week’s show features one of several free tracks now available from All India Radio’s web site. It’s a collection of outtakes and previously unreleased songs from the sessions that brought us Fall, which was featured on Dave’s Lounge #124. The collection is called Fallout, and you can download them here. Nice touch. More bands should do this sort of thing.
As you might have noticed, new episodes are now being recorded on Tuesday nights instead of Monday nights. That will continue for the rest of the year. Hopefully, it will reduce the number of potential interruptions this fall.
It’s been a busy week around these parts, and it’s not going to slow down for the next week or so, so I’ve decided to keep it simple for this show — less talk, more music. Given the quality of these instrumentals, I don’t think anyone will mind very much…
This week’s episode is a bit of a milestone, as it features a band I never thought I would get to play on this show — Thievery Corporation. Their publicity folks sent me a copy of their new album, Radio Retaliation, which will be out on September 23.
Speaking of new albums, congratulations go out to Andrew from New South Wales, Christy from Columbus, James from San Diego and Noah from Boulder. They all won a copy of Natalie Walker’s new CD, With You, which will go out in the mail later this week. Thanks to everyone who entered. If you didn’t win, you can still get a copy for yourself from the links below…
