Merge of EqualsI had a sense that Merge of Equals was capable of some great music after hearing their contributions to Cosmic Chill Lounge Vol. 3. What I didn’t know, however, was just how many compilations featured Zurich-based producer Flavio Maspoli & Friends before then. No surprise, then, that their debut album, Intoxicating, does not disappoint. This is more than just a collection of tracks taken from compilations. Merge of Equals’ music demonstrates a wide variety of emotions — a sort of versatility you don’t usually see in downtempo. I think y’all are really going to like this album.

Back from a long break that saw me fly to Austin, Texas, and back, needing two days to recover from that, then come down with some sort of nasty flu bug, and needing three days to recover from that. It’s a rare midweek show, but those won’t be so rare in the coming weeks. Listen in to find out why. Oh, and check out this week’s special guest announcer. He’s fantastic.
